Greetings from Sri Lanka! Get a ride to Kandy after you arrive in Colombo. Stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en route to observe a variety of injured and discarded elephants. Proceed to Kandy and check into the hotel when you get there. After that, take pleasure in a drive to Kandy Lake and a Kandyan dance performance. Admire the stunning lake views before taking in the captivating performances of the Kandyan Dance Show, which highlights Sri Lanka's heritage. After that, return to the hotel by car.
Savor the Kandy sightseeing tour today. Start by going to the Market Crafts Centre, where you can buy souvenirs and handcrafted goods. After that, take in the collection of semi-precious stones at the Gem Museum. Explore the royal botanical gardens, which feature a variety of plants and animals, as well as the Spice Garden, where you can learn about Sri Lankan spices. Don't miss the Kandy Temple, which houses the tooth relic of Lord Buddha, and Orchid House, which features a display of orchids in various shades.
After checking out, drive to Nuwara Eliya. Check in at the hotel when you arrive. Enjoy a city tour of Nuwara Eliya later. Visit the temple dedicated to the mythical Ramayan, Seetha Eliya. Next, go to one of the biggest botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, Haggala Gardens. Additionally, explore Gregory Lake, where you can try boating, and Victoria Park, which has colorful blooms. Get driven to Bentota after checking out today. Stop along the way at Edinburg Viewpoint, which offers views of hills covered in mist. After that, you're driven to Kithulgala, where you can try rafting at the Kelani River (at an additional expense). Proceed to Bentota, and when you get there, check into the hotel. You can have a leisurely day later. You can go to Brief Garden, which has sculptures created by Bevis Bawa, or Cinnamon Island, which is well-known for its cinnamon growing method. Later, return to the hotel by yourself to spend the night there.
Prepare for the Bentota sightseeing tour in the morning. Begin with a visit to the Madu River, where you can enjoy a boat safari (at extra cost). Admire the beauty of the surrounding mangrove forests & wetlands, with opportunities to spot wildlife. After that, get driven to Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where you can witness endangered sea turtles & their hatchlings being released into the sea. Later, get driven back to the hotel.
Prepare for a trip to Galle and Mirrisa. First up is a Dutch Reformed Church with colonial-style architecture. Next, take a look at the two most impressive structures that provide a window into Sri Lanka's colonial past: Dutch Fort and Fort Lighthouse. Before you are driven to Mirrisa Beach, take a walk along the shoreline, and take in views of the shores from Coconut Tree Hill, don't miss the Maritime Museum, where exhibits feature shipwrecks and the Meera Mosque, reflecting the town's cultural heritage.
After checking out, take a car to Colombo. When you get there, check in at the hotel. Get a ride for a city tour later. Visit the beautiful park by the sea, Galle Face Green.
